About the Team
Our Experience Design (XD) Team is at the forefront of enriching our customers' digital experiences and representing the voice of our customers. We are seeking an exceptional Principal Product Designer to join our XD team, reporting directly into our Manager of Product Design. About the Role
What we're looking for from you:
Core UI/UX Skills
- You have a strong understanding of UI/UX design principles, and executing design processes within a broader Product Development Lifecycle
- You have deep expertise in native iOS, Android and Web, including Human Interface Guidelines
- You design experiences that anticipate user needs, leveraging platform-specific capabilities to create intuitive interactions that help users achieve their goals
Technical Skills
- You have experience working closely with product and engineering teams in an semi-agile, iterative, data-informed product development environment
- You have a track record of designing for, and contributing to design systems
- You understand and apply digital accessibility best practices, designing for screen readers, voice commands, and assistive touch gestures
- You leverage analytics, user testing, and behavioural insights to refine designs and optimize user journeys
Design Thinking & Problem Solving Skills
- You believe in the principle of sharing your work early and often
- You have a passion for continuously improving your craft and extending your knowledge of product design principles, modern design tools, emerging technologies
- You can think laterally and adapt design methodologies to fit unique project needs
Collaboration & Influence
- You effectively communicate design decisions, influencing cross-functional teams and aligning stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and Leadership
- You communicate ideas clearly and persuasively across different audiences, and levels within the organization
- You make informed decisions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints

- You are regularly sought out by and seen as an expert in product design strategy skills by partner teams
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and leaders in design, product management, engineering, and marketing to justify design and product decisions, provide escalation management, and focus team activities around OKRs
- Work cross-functionally with our XD researchers, product, engineering, and marketing teams to prioritize and deliver on business initiatives
- Advocate for customer needs in mobile and web experiences
- Define and implement standards and best practices for digital product design ensuring consistency across platforms
- Contribute to our Design System, helping to ensure governance, scalability, and efficiency
- Present and communicate design decisions to various stakeholders across the business
- Monitor and analyze design, emerging digital technologies, and fintech trends to inform our product roadmap
- Influence and educate product teams on how UX activities can support them through the Product Development Lifecycle
- Strategically vision and lead discovery work with minimal guidance
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of UX/Product Design experience
- 1+ year of experience leading/mentoring Product Designers with a defensible record of growing design talent
- Exceptional working knowledge of modern design tools and methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in HCI/UX, Social Science, Psychology, Research, or other related field, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience working on consumer-facing digital products in a regulated environment
- 2+ years of experience optimizing product design workflows with generative artificial intelligence
- Experience designing for motion, micro-interactions, and animations, in mobile apps.
