Candid Color Photography is a Mid-Atlantic based photography studio providing on-location portrait services to K-12 public/private schools and clients throughout Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

We are seeking qualified individuals to fill the role of a on-location portrait / event photographer and office assistant. Full-time, part-time, and contract work is available.

Photography events will take place on-location in the Northern Virginia area (Prince William County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, etc..). Majority of events take place Monday thru Friday. Company provided equipment will be used to photograph events. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Posed Portraits

• Taking posed pictures of elementary, middle, and high school students during school hours. Typical event hours are between 7:30am-3:30pm.
• You will coordinate with a lead photographer for daily responsibilities and event pre-planning.
• You are responsible for arriving at setup time, assembling studio equipment (lights, background, camera, and accompanying equipment), photographing subjects, and packing up.

Event Candids

• Taking event candids of sports, dances, and other functions per school request. Event candids are typically after school hours between of 5:00pm-8:00pm.
• You will secure event images, perform basic editing (ex: delete bad images, basic color correction) and upload photos to a web portal for said client.

Office assistant

• Candidates will report to our customer service office when there are no on-location events scheduled.
• Answering / responding to customer inquiries by phone and email.
• Coordinating with service managers and staff on specific tasks.
• Data entry to update client information for deadline oriented assignments.
• Tracking incoming leads and distributing the to the appropriate sales and production managers
• Prepare mailings / shipments for completed orders and/or sales literature to customers.

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

• Prior photography experience with posed portraits and event candids (i.e. sports, dances, performances, etc..). Candidates who do not meet this will be rejected.
• Must pass a police background check prior to hiring. Candidates who do not meet this will be rejected.
• Must have reliable transportation
• The ability to interface with customers and management
• The ability to independently learn new computer databases/programs
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Passion for team work, forging connections and fostering firm culture
• Strong time management skills; ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments, with a high degree of accuracy, and meet deadlines
• The ability to work independently, with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Ability to speak Spanish a plus

Compensation is based on experience level and type of event(s) to photograph. Time spent at each event varies with the number of subjects to photograph and complexity of event.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
