WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Data Scientist (Analytics & Data Engineering)
Tennis Canada is looking for a Data Scientist to join its Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will contribute to structuring organizational data and delivering insights that support business decisions, enhance fan engagement, and optimize revenue.
Data Foundations
- Build and maintain data pipelines from various sources (CRM, ticketing, marketing, etc.)
- Design and manage a centralized cloud-based data warehouse
- Structure reliable datasets to support analysis (fans, revenue, marketing)
- Ensure data quality and consistency
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand and organize data needs
Analytics & Modeling
- Perform analyses to support business decision-making
- Develop forecasting models (revenue, ticketing, attendance)
- Segment audiences and analyze customer behavior
- Contribute to revenue optimization and marketing performance
- Analyze the performance of initiatives (marketing, partnerships, etc.)
Decision Support
- Translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Develop dashboards and clear reporting tools
- Present findings to teams and leadership
- Participate in strategic discussions with stakeholders
WHO YOU ARE
- 3–5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
- Degree in economics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline
- Experience working with data environments and analytical tools
- Strong ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex data into clear messaging
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- Advanced SQL
- Python (data analysis and modeling)
- Experience with databases or data warehouses
- Data visualization tools (Power BI)
- Knowledge of data transformation tools (dbt)
