Filling Machine Operator

Canadian Down & Feather Company is looking for a Filling Machine Operator to help us create a product that our clients will love.

Canadian Down & Feather Company is a Canadian manufacturer of down, feather, and down alternative bedding products. We sell top-quality duvets, pillows, and mattress toppers through our online store and to national and independent retailers, hotels, and interior design professionals.

As a Filling Machine Operator, you will be responsible for:

• operating duvet and pillow filling machines according to proper procedures
• calculating and measuring the amount of required fill
• fluffing and loosening compressed down and feather prior to filling
• mixing or blending fill as required
• weighing finished products
• assessing product quality and adjusting fill as needed to ensure consistent customer experience
• keeping the production area clean
• following safety protocol at all times
• performing other functions as required by the business – assisting in other areas as required

• is able to read, speak and understand English
• is willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
• can bend, reach, and stand for long periods of time
• can work in a fast-paced environment
• can work independently and as part of a team
• is flexible to work evenings and weekends

The following skills are not required, but are an asset:

• proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc) as well as comfort with the rest of the Microsoft Office suite
• sewing skills
• ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 25kg
