Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, for a Field Technical Service & Security Integration Technician. The role involves performing on-site technical support, troubleshooting complex system issues, and providing integration of security and IT systems.

  • Assist with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IP video surveillance systems, access control devices, NVRs, and IoT security hardware
  • Perform basic to intermediate network diagnostics (switches, routers, VLANs, IP addressing)
  • Install and test low-voltage structured cabling (copper)
  • Support configuration of servers, workstations, and related peripherals
  • Diagnose and escalate software, networking, and hardware issues on customer sites
  • Assist in deploying loss-prevention and enterprise security solutions
  • Document field activities, system configurations, and technical findings
  • Work collaboratively with senior technicians and project teams
  • Maintain professional communication with customers and internal stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Recently completed a technical diploma or degree program such as: Computer Systems Technician – Networking, Computer Networking & Technical Support, Electronics Engineering Technician/Technology, Cybersecurity & Threat Management, or Information Technology Support
  • Understanding of IP networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
  • Ability to diagnose network and hardware issues
  • Knowledge of cabling, structured wiring, or security systems is an asset
  • Comfortable with physical tasks (lifting 50–75 lbs, ladders, field work)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license (vehicle required for some site visits)
  • Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check prior to employment
  • Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen
