Job Description

The Opportunity:

The Enterprise Communications Services 3 (ECS3) program supports our intel customer across its operating locations. Our focus is to help the organization technically transform its current services by leading edge technology insertions. To accomplish this, we are charged with development of new designs, its implementation, and operation of the new and/or enhanced services. Over the life of the contract, we will drive continual service improvement by tech modernization for our LANs, WANs, Unified Communications (UC), Video telecommunication and Streaming services.

As a Tier 3 Network Administrator, you will be challenged with hard complex support problems where you will coordinate with other NOC and Operational staff and be asked to lead and perform platform upgrades. You are expected as one of the leaders on the Network team to coordinate ticket acceptance and resolutions. You will develop technical resolution reports for critical outages in the Network.

Responsibilities

In this role the Network Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Performing system patching and IAVA patches to network routers and switches.
  • Performing IOS and software upgrades.
  • Creating, reviewing, and publishing in KM system Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for network operations.
  • Troubleshooting systems failures and accessibility problems within the network to our services.
  • Monitoring network performance, tracking usage and developing capacity planning reports.
  • Developing and maintaining IP address allocations tables.
  • Making recommendations that enhance operational efficiencies for network monitoring, management, and overall operations.
  • Using experience and knowledge articles to understand/implement potential workarounds; updating knowledge articles and handling "how to" questions; supporting KM management by entering solutions into the Solutions database.
  • Facilitating engineering design data calls.
  • Leading new/enhanced network implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects within a site or locale.
  • Working independently while providing leadership to the rest of the Network team.
  • Performing network ticket resolution and supporting network ticket closure across Network OPS staff, including completion of initial categorization of Service Requests (type, sub-type, location device, priority, etc.).
  • Using administrative access to the network to provision new switches, routers, VLANs and cryptographic equipment.
  • Using administrative access to network components to research errors/incidents and perform incident analysis to identify potential problems.
  • Routing service requests to the appropriate organization required for incident resolution.
  • Performing root cause analyses and completing problem resolutions associated with incident tickets.
  • Configuring, deploying, managing, and maintaining network monitoring systems used by technicians to ensure availability and overall performance of systems and services.
  • Assisting with development of network-related implementation and deployment documentation.
  • Testing and evaluating network designs to determine whether customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Supporting development of testing aids for validating lab configurations or systems in the lab; assisting with testing and documentation for products/solutions/systems being tested.
  • Leading research and testing of new or modified hardware or software products to determine performance and interoperability.
  • Supporting engineers or other staff in the design or implementation of new solutions.
  • Leading validation of lab environment disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications

Required:

  • IAT II certification
  • TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain a CI polygraph

Pay and Benefits

There are a range of factors that can influence final salary including location, contract wage rates, experience, skills, and certifications. We offer competitive compensation, benefits and learning opportunities, including healthcare, retirement, and time off benefits. The proposed salary range for this position is $90,300-$189,600.
