Telecommunications Technician Level 3

The Opportunity

CIAC is seeking a skilled and experienced Telecommunications Technician (Level

3) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Nortel and Cisco CUCM, strong networking skills, and the ability to work in high‑visibility, customer‑facing environments. This role requires a solid understanding of VoIP technologies, basic networking, and Bix cable termination skills. The technician will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Nortel/Avaya and Cisco VOIP phones.
• Perform on‑the‑job training (OJT) for VoIP technicians as needed.
• Ensure all telecommunications systems are functioning correctly and efficiently.
• Apply basic networking principles to support system stability.
• Perform Bix cable termination and other cabling tasks as required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network‑related issues.
• Provide high‑level technical support in customer‑facing environments.
• Maintain excellent communication with clients to understand needs and provide solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
• Generate reports for management and compliance purposes.
• Adhere to all security protocols and procedures associated with TS/SCI clearance.
• Ensure all telecommunications activities comply with organizational and government regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5‑7 years of comprehensive experience with Nortel and Cisco CUCM.
• Comfortable working in high‑visibility and customer‑facing environments.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
• Experience with classified and unclassified Internet (IP) preferred.
• Nortel / Avaya Certification required.
• Security+ Certified.
• TS/SCI Clearance.

Pay Range

$49,900 - $100,000
