Overview
Richmond staple Buz and Ned's is seeking a General Manager to help manage and oversee the best barbecue spot in Richmond. This pivotal role requires a passionate leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, possesses exceptional management skills, and has a deep understanding of food service operations. Duties
- Lead and motivate the restaurant team to deliver exceptional customer service, fostering a positive and energetic work environment.
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, and food handling to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining optimal stock levels to minimize waste and control costs.
- Supervise staff training and development programs, including interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing coaching to build a skilled and motivated team.
- Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling, sales tracking, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards through regular inspections and staff training on food safety practices.
- Oversee shift management, kitchen operations, and customer service to ensure smooth workflow during busy hours.
- Implement budgeting strategies, monitor expenses, and analyze financial reports to maximize profitability.
- Coordinate catering events, banquets, or special functions as needed to expand revenue streams.
- Foster a hospitality-focused culture that emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and continuous improvement across all restaurant functions.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience in quick service or casual dining environments with supervising responsibilities.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary processes, and kitchen management.
- Hands-on experience with POS systems such as /Genius POS for sales processing and reporting.
- Strong background in food safety standards, inventory control, and food handling procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in staff training, development, and team management.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Previous experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and analyzing financial data within a restaurant setting.
- Familiarity with hospitality management practices including catering, banquet services, bar operations, and hotel experience is advantageous.
