Job Title: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Washington, DC

Duration: 13 Weeks Contract (Potential to Extend/Convert) (BI02)

Shift: Day/Evening Shift – 4x12 Hours (06:30 AM – 07:00 PM / 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse to provide high-quality perioperative care in a fast-paced cardiovascular operating room. This role involves circulating in complex cardiac and vascular procedures while ensuring patient safety, efficiency, and adherence to clinical standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience
• Experience in Level I trauma and general surgery required
• Prior travel experience required (at least 1 assignment)
• Active RN license (must be obtained prior to start)
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Certifications:

• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required

Key Responsibilities:

• Circulate in CVOR procedures including CABG, valve replacements, and vascular surgeries
• Assist surgical teams during complex cardiovascular and robotic procedures
• Maintain sterile field and ensure adherence to infection control standards
• Monitor patient status and respond to intraoperative needs
• Document procedures using electronic charting systems (Cerner preferred)
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments and equipment
• Participate in on-call rotation and weekend coverage as required
• Float to general surgery when needed

• High-acuity CVOR setting with Level I trauma exposure
• Fast-paced surgical environment with advanced cardiac procedures
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including radiology, pharmacy, and support staff
• Extended standing periods and on-call responsibilities
