Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a systems-oriented leader who can own and scale the Web Development & Design department.

This role is responsible for ensuring that all websites and landing pages delivered by the agency are:

Technically sound

  • SEO-optimized
  • Conversion-focused
  • Delivered on time

-Delivered profitably

You will lead a team of designers and developers, standardize processes, improve delivery speed, enforce quality assurance, and build scalable frameworks that support SEO rankings and paid media performance.

This role requires someone who understands both technical web development and design.

You will collaborate closely with the SEO, Paid Media, and Account Management teams to ensure every web asset supports client acquisition and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Department Leadership
  • Lead and manage a team of web designers and developers
  • Define clear standards for design, development, and quality control
  • Create scalable systems, SOPs, and workflows to support department growth
  • Mentor team members and maintain high performance standards
  • Ensure clear communication between web, SEO, paid media, and account management teams

Project Delivery & Operations

  • Oversee all website and landing page builds across the agency
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope
  • Plan team capacity and allocate resources effectively
  • Reduce bottlenecks and improve overall delivery speed
  • Implement structured project workflows within tools such as -Asana, ClickUp, or similar
  • Ensure smooth collaboration between designers, developers, and strategists

Technical & Design Oversight

  • Define development standards, coding best practices, and deployment workflows
  • Maintain high technical quality across all builds
  • Oversee implementation of Core Web Vitals, page speed optimization, and performance standards
  • Ensure websites follow SEO technical best practices
  • Approve design output to ensure strong brand consistency and usability

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

  • Own CRO systems and testing frameworks for websites and landing pages
  • Work with paid media and SEO teams to improve conversion performance
  • Develop landing page structures optimized for lead generation
  • Implement testing frameworks for continuous conversion improvements
  • Use analytics, heatmaps, and user behavior data to optimize performance
  • Technology & Framework Development
  • Define and maintain the agency’s web technology stack (WordPress, CMS platforms, frameworks)
  • Build reusable components, templates, and scalable website structures
  • Improve website build efficiency through modular design systems
  • Maintain staging, deployment, and hosting best practices

Sales & Commercial Collaboration

  • Support the sales team in scoping web projects and validating technical feasibility
  • Provide realistic timelines and technical estimates for new projects
  • Help ensure web projects are priced profitably and delivered efficiently
  • Support Account Managers in technical discussions with clients when necessary

Performance & Department Metrics

Track key performance indicators for the Web department including:

-Delivery timeline

-Team utilization

-Quality metrics

-Project profitability

Continuously improve department efficiency and operational performance

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in web development
  • 2+ years managing developers or designers
  • Strong experience working inside digital marketing agencies
  • Advanced experience with WordPress and modern CMS platforms
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO fundamentals
  • Proven experience working with conversion-focused landing pages
  • Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals and page speed optimization
  • Experience implementing CRO strategies and testing frameworks
  • Ability to analyze data from analytics platforms and translate it into improvements
  • Experience working with operational project management tools (ClickUp, Asana, Monday, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Fluent or C1-level English
  • Experience scaling Web or Development departments inside marketing agencies
  • Experience building reusable design systems and website frameworks
  • Strong background in landing page optimization for paid media campaigns
  • Experience working with U.S.-based clients
  • Experience collaborating closely with SEO and Paid Media teams
