Revenue Cycle Management / Medical Billing Specialist

Duties

• Manage end-to-end medical billing processes, including claim submission, follow-up, and reimbursement collection
• Review and code medical procedures and diagnoses using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Verify patient information, insurance details, and medical records to facilitate seamless billing operations
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve billing discrepancies promptly
• Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for data entry, retrieval, and management of patient information
• Conduct medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and outstanding balances with insurance companies and patients
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim statuses, and correspondence for audit readiness

Skills

• Proficiency in DRG classification, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding standards, and medical coding best practices
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems to manage medical records efficiently
• Excellent knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance claim processes, and reimbursement workflows
• Ability to interpret medical records accurately for proper coding and billing purposes
• Effective communication skills for liaising with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients
• Prior experience in medical office settings or healthcare finance environments is highly desirable
