Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Secondary Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. This role involves planning an innovative and engaging program based on the Ontario Curriculum, fostering an inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating with staff, parents, and specialists to ensure student success. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for working with students with disabilities and a commitment to promoting educational growth and development.
Duties
- Design and deliver tailored instructional lessons aligned with IEP goals, focusing on areas such as math, reading, and communication skills
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain detailed records of student performance, behavior, and progress reports
- Foster positive relationships with students to promote engagement, confidence, and independence
- Implement behavioral management strategies to support student development
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education; teaching certification in special education preferred
- Experience working with students with disabilities in classroom or tutoring settings
- Strong understanding of special education principles and classroom management techniques
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, students, and families
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and needs
- Passion for working with students and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
