This summer, Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art is seeking undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in the arts and cultural sector. Interns will gain an in-depth understanding of specific areas of museum work by participating in departmental activities and projects under the supervision of mentoring staff. Through practical training, hands-on projects, off-site field trips, and networking opportunities, interns will prepare for careers in arts administration, fundraising, and non-profit organizations.

Application Deadline
Applications for Summer 2026 internships are due by end of day April 28, 2026. The program will run for ten weeks, from Monday, June 1 - Friday, August 14 for 25 hours per week. The reviewing and interview process will take place the first week in May, and interns will be notified of selections by mid-May. A stipend of $3500 will be allocated to each intern. Interns may also seek course credit, with further discussion and arrangements between their university and our staff.
All internships require on-site work in Chadds Ford, PA, but there will be some work from home opportunities. Unfortunately, the Brandywine Museum of Art is not accessible by public transit and only by vehicle.

Non-Profit Administration & Governance Intern
The Executive Office serves as Brandywine’s administrative and strategic center, comprised of the Executive Director & CEO and key support staff. This internship provides the opportunity to assist the Executive Office with recordkeeping, data entry, and inventory and storage projects. A primary goal this summer will be to build out the organization’s newly implemented board portal, including organizing and digitizing documents related to Brandywine’s Board of Trustees and seven Standing Committees. This experience offers insights into non-profit governance work, enabling broad exposure to nearly every facet of the organization. While ideal for undergraduate or graduate students interested in pursuing a career in the arts or non-profit administration, candidates from a broad range of disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Development Intern
The Development Office intern will support fundraising and donor engagement efforts while gaining hands-on experience in advancement operations. Responsibilities typically include assisting with foundation and corporate reach, donor research, maintaining and updating the donor database, preparing acknowledgment letters and event materials, supporting fundraising campaigns, and helping to assist with special events. The internship offers exposure to key aspects of nonprofit development—such as stewardship, communications, and grant support—while building skills in organization, writing, and relationship management in a mission-driven environment.
