General Appraiser, Land Services - Richmond, VA

**Overview:** We are seeking a highly skilled General Appraiser, Land Services to join our team on a hybrid basis in Richmond, VA. As a General Appraiser, you will play a crucial role in negotiating complex land acquisition assignments and projects on behalf of our clients. You will work extensively with private entities and governmental agencies to acquire rights relative to construction, reconstruction, enlargement, or maintenance of state and federally funded right-of-way, relocations, appraisals, utilities and adjustments, acquisitions, beautification regulations and compliance. **Responsibilities:**

• Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution
• Actively identify new business development opportunities and maintain relationships with clients
• Interact directly with clients to apply expertise and counsel to develop project scope and negotiation parameters of acquisitions
• Research, review, analyze and title; identify defects and outline/recommend curation
• Negotiate the most complex land acquisition assignments and projects on behalf of clients
• Prepare comprehensive market analysis and appraisal of real estate and easement values
• Develop routing/siting and permitting of linear utility projects
• Manage complicated damage claims and settlements with property owners
• *Qualifications:**
• Experience with VDOT is required
• Bachelor's, Associate's, or advanced technical degree and/or equivalent right-of-way work experience preferred
• Five or more (5+) years of experience working in all aspects of right-of-way acquisition preferred
• General Appraiser certification required
