Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Customs and Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting daily ocean and air customs processes, coordinating logistics activities, and providing leadership support to the freight team.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and experienced in customs and freight operations with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor Ocean/Air and Freight inboxes to ensure timely responses and operational efficiency
  • Review Ocean/Air customs entries for final accounting and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Request and collect required client information, forms, and documents as needed
  • Assess freight division operational needs and resources
  • Provide operational coverage for Freight Coordinators and the Ocean/Air Supervisor, including acting as Interim Supervisor during extended absences
  • Communicate with direct reports regarding workflow, operational concerns, and team support
  • Troubleshoot delays impacting the timely release of cargo
  • Support onboarding of new Ocean and Air clients and develop/maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Provide operational team support by managing workflows, coordinating freight quotes and cargo delivery, processing release documentation, and verifying payment and charge requirements prior to cargo release

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in customs brokerage / customs release operations
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • CCS Designation preferred
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to adapt and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Approachable, supportive leadership style
  • Comfortable delegating and guiding team performance
