This role involves hands-on custom Word Press and PHP development while also overseeing multiple non-PHP development projects with external teams. You will lead and mentor junior developers, deliver bespoke websites and web applications, and maintain multiple Word Press platforms to the highest technical standards. Your expertise in custom Word Press theme and plugin development is just as important as your project management and leadership capabilities . You must be proficient in HTML5, CSS, Object-Oriented PHP, and Git, capable of writing elegant, efficient, secure code with an excellent understanding of web security.

Position Overview Lead the development and maintenance of custom Word Press websites , Woo Commerce modules, themes, and plugins with enterprise-level quality, security, and scalability Build, enhance, and support applications using Core PHP and leading PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Code Igniter, or Cake PHP Implement and optimize websites for AEO-SEO (Answer Engine Optimisation / AI Search Readiness) including structured data, schema markup, page performance, UX readiness, and AI-friendly content handling Customize and enhance front-end experiences using HTML, CSS, Java Script, and j Query , ensuring pixel-perfect, responsive, and high-performance UI Ensure Core Web Vitals, performance optimisation, caching strategies, and best development practices are consistently implemented Develop and integrate REST APIs, third-party services, CRMs, payment gateways, automation systems, and advanced platform functionalities Oversee end-to-end delivery of multiple projects , ensuring timelines, quality benchmarks, and client expectations are consistently met Play a key leadership role by guiding, mentoring, and supporting junior developers , reviewing code, and ensuring development standards are followed Maintain strong focus on security best practices , OWASP guidelines, safe coding standards, and platform stability Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Digital Marketing Teams, and Clients to translate business objectives into technical execution Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards , cross-browser compatibility, responsive behaviour, and platform reliability Prepare, plan, and manage workload using structured development methodologies, documentation discipline, and clear communication

Essential Skills & Experience Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in PHP and Word Press development, including custom themes and plugins Strong expertise in Core PHP and familiarity with frameworks such as Laravel / Code Igniter / Cake PHP Advanced proficiency in Word Press customization , Woo Commerce, APIs, hooks, filters, and custom post types Excellent command of HTML5, CSS3, Java Script, and j Query with strong UI/UX awareness Deep understanding of My SQL , database architecture, and query optimization Strong knowledge of web performance optimization , caching, Core Web Vitals, and responsive development Solid understanding of web security best practices , OWASP principles, and secure coding standards Proven experience working with REST APIs, third-party integrations, payment gateways, CRMs, and similar systems Practical experience with Git / version control workflows Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards Ability to analyze business requirements and convert them into robust technical solutions Strong understanding of AEO-SEO (Answer Engine Optimization / AI-Search readiness) is mandatory

SEO / AEO Skills Strong understanding of AEO-SEO (Answer Engine Optimization / AI-driven SEO) — this is mandatory Solid understanding of technical SEO fundamentals related to Word Press (schema, indexing, crawlability, sitemaps, etc.) Experience implementing structured data / schema markup to improve AI and search visibility Understanding of Core Web Vitals, page speed optimization, and performance best practices Ability to work closely with marketing teams to optimize websites for search, AI visibility, conversions, and user experience Awareness of modern SEO trends including Search Generative Experiences (SGE), AI indexing behaviours, and answer-engine readiness

Project Management & Leadership Skills Proven experience leading development teams , mentoring junior developers, and managing distributed/remote resources Strong project ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent ability to interpret requirements, estimate effort, define scope, and deliver within deadlines Experience working in structured project environments (Agile / Scrum preferred) Strong collaboration skills to work with Project Managers, Digital Marketing Teams, Designers, and Clients Ability to document work clearly , maintain structured workflows, and ensure quality standards are consistently met Comfortable attending client meetings, status calls, and technical discussions.
