CAD Technician

Blue Sky is seeking a CAD Technician to support environmental planning documentation and regulatory guidance manuals. The CAD Technician will develop and manage AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation deliverables in compliance with National CAD Standards and government-specific layer naming conventions.

Location : Hybrid Prince George's County, Maryland (23 days onsite required)

Security Requirement: Ability to pass a Public Trust background investigation

Employment Type : Full-Time (Contingent Upon Contract Award)

Travel : Local travel within Prince George's County, MD as required

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and edit drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD (2024 or later)
• Ensure compliance with United States National CAD Standard (Company)
• Produce native CAD files and sealed PDF drawing sheets
• Maintain revision tracking and QA/QC documentation
• Coordinate CAD outputs with GIS mapping products
• Prepare graphics for Planning Board and public presentations

Required Education

• Associate's Degree in CAD Technology, Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field
• Relevant experience may substitute for formal education

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of professional CAD drafting experience
• Minimum 3 years supporting government or infrastructure projects
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2024 or later)
• Experience applying National CAD Standards and managing revision tracking

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting environmental or regulatory planning projects
• Experience integrating CAD and GIS deliverables
• Familiarity with accessibility-compliant PDF production
