PHP Junior Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Developer to join our development team to build and maintain our government focused ERP solution. This role is perfect for a recent university graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience with legacy and cutting‑edge Microsoft technologies while contributing to enterprise‑level software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop responsive web user interfaces using PHP, Javascript and CSS.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for accessing ERP data
• Create and maintain PHP backend applications
• Implement data binding and user interaction logic to connect front‑end forms with backend services
• Collaborate with senior developers to achieve product outcomes
• Perform unit testing and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability
• Debug and troubleshoot application issues across the full stack
• Document code, technical processes, and user interface specifications
• Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning and daily standups
• Assist in deployment activities and version control management using Git
• Stay current with the web ecosystem updates and best practices for web development
• Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development and problem‑solving

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Familiarity with SQL query writing and relational databases
• Solid understanding of PHP and object‑oriented programming principles
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• Understanding of data modelling, relational database concepts and normalized data structures
• Knowledge of Accounting, Payroll, and Billing concepts
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking abilities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Proficiency in prompt engineering and working with agentic AI coding assistants
• Ability to effectively communicate technical requirements and debug AI‑generated code
• Skills in iterative prompt refinement to achieve desired coding outcomes
