Job Description
Taiko Labs is at the forefront of blockchain innovation, developing the Taiko ZK Rollup, a Layer 2 solution that scales Ethereum by faithfully emulating its technical and non-technical characteristics. Our solution, an Ethereum-equivalent (Type 1) ZK Rollup with based (fully permissionless) sequencing, enhances the performance of Ethereum by supporting all EVM opcodes within a decentralized, permission-less, and secure Layer 2/3 framework.
Our team is rooted in a firm belief in the power and potential of zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs). Comprising seasoned professionals who have been utilizing ZKPs since 2018, our team has the distinction of having built the first ZK-Rollup on Ethereum. As we continue to push boundaries and innovate, we are eager to augment our team with talented, driven individuals who align with our vision and are ready to make a significant contribution to the blockchain landscape.
We are looking for a Partnerships DeFi Lead to join our team and contribute to making Taiko the default choice for DeFi OGs and projects to build on. You will be responsible to strategize all our DeFi initiatives from a business perspective, making sure Taiko becomes the most attractive chain for DeFi protocols to build on, and ensuring we hold our partner’s hand to make them succeed. You will also represent Taiko in different conferences around the world.
About the role
- Own the DeFi vertical for Taiko Labs, reporting directly to the Global Head of Partnerships.
- Elaborate an end-to-end strategy that brings Taiko among the top-3 chains in terms of volume and TVL, the most important DeFi metrics.
- Understand the needs of our ecosystem partners, helping them on integrations, solving business questions, consulting and managing the relationship alongside the Partnerships team.
- Think out-of-the-box. It’s not only about closing Partnerships but maximizing their impact by being creative. E.g. encourage cross-initiatives between our current ecosystem partners.
- Being able to effectively negotiate, bringing Taiko the best deals in the most cost-efficient way possible.
- Participate in conferences around the globe, representing Taiko on the ground and jumping on stage where needed.
- Be part of the grants council as SME (Subject Matter Expert) on any DeFi protocol.
About you
- Strong understanding of Ethereum and its application ecosystem.
- Understanding of L2 scaling solutions and cryptographic primitives.

- Willingness to travel to community events.
- Highly curious and always learning.
- A deep sense of ownership in your work, deriving joy from helping others.
