UI Designer

Role Overview

We are seeking a UI Designer who creates polished, production-quality interfaces in Figma and who is also comfortable using AI coding tools (Cursor, Lovable, Claude, v0) to turn those designs into working prototypes without waiting for engineering handoff.

This role is ideal for a designer who believes the gap between “mockup” and “working software” should be as small as possible. You’ll work closely with our Product and Development teams to define the visual standard for our platform, build a scalable design system, and produce interactive prototypes that developers can reference as we grow.

Responsibilities

• Establish the best-in-class user experience for our app users.
• Collaborate with the Product team to review user stories and wireframes and translate them into high-fidelity UI designs in Figma.
• Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, Lovable, Claude, Figma Make) to rapidly prototype designs as working UI that developers can reference, build from, or validate with stakeholders.
• Ensure that final designs align with product goals, usability principles, and our brand guidelines.
• Support the development team by answering design-related questions and providing guidance during build and testing.
• Conduct reviews of completed features to ensure design accuracy and consistency across the platform.
• Work with the team to establish UI design standards, components, and design systems that scale with our platform.
• Produce interactive demos and working prototypes for user testing, stakeholder reviews, investor presentations, demo videos, etc.
• Support customer user testing with the Product Owners to gain valuable insights from beta users.
• Maintain and organize design files and documentation for consistency and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as a UI Designer or similar role in a SaaS or web-based product environment.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user interface design, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Experience establishing UI design systems and component libraries.
• Experience creating designs for web, IOS, and Android environments.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Comfortable using AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Lovable, Claude, v0) to prototype and build working UI from your designs. (You don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be able to go from Figma to a functional, clickable prototype without one.)
• Experience working closely with Product Managers and Developers to translate concepts into production-ready designs.
• Familiarity with responsive design principles and accessibility standards.
• Strong verbal communication and collaboration skills in person and over video calls.
• High attention to detail, with a commitment to polished, production-quality execution.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience working with payroll, enterprise SaaS, or HR/rewards platforms.
• Familiarity with React or React Native, enough to understand component structure and speak the same language as developers.
• Experience designing onboarding flows, financial dashboards, and software products designed for non-technical audiences.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
