Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. We have three separate businesses operating within one location. A full service coffee shop. A full service convenience store serving ready wrapped foods.

Homemade foods soups, salads pastries et cetera. And a full service licensed, sit down medium fine dining restaurant. Fresh foods for the convenience store will be produced in our kitchen as part of your duties.

As well as cooking within a team, for the sit down portion of the restaurant.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a passion for food preparation and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, supervise staff, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful Sous Chef will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences while supporting the overall success of our restaurant.

Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient team management and adherence to safety protocols
  • Oversee food handling procedures to maintain compliance with food safety standards
  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant recipes and standards
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment at all times
  • Serve as a leader in the kitchen, providing training and mentorship to team members
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to develop menus, specials, and new culinary concepts
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards by ensuring timely and consistent food delivery

Skills

  • Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or food service environment. With a minimum of five years experience.
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food industry best practices
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with effective team management skills
  • Knowledge of restaurant management operations and hospitality standards
  • Expertise in food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation procedures
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with staff and serve guests effectively
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours
  • Passion for culinary arts with a focus on quality, presentation, and innovation
  • Familiarity with serving procedures and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels
