The pay rate for this position is $15 per hour.

The Agriculture Tech is responsible for the general maintenance of the garden for guests’ enjoyment and the needs of the culinary team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform daily tasks about the upkeep of the culinary garden
• Water plants as necessary
• Maintain a chemical-free garden
• Harvest product daily
• General garden maintenance including hand weeding, staking and trellising, mowing, weed eating, bed preparation, laying compost, transplanting, etc.
• Compost management, including the daily collection of kitchen waste.
• Daily harvest to fill kitchen orders, including trimming, cleaning, and delivery of garden produce
• Organization and maintenance of garden-related tools and equipment
• Interact with guests and team members when necessary
• Other duties as deemed necessary.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

• None

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Must have a general knowledge of or interest in organic farming methods
• Equipment operation, specifically tractor, the experience is preferred
• Ability to engage with visiting guests and children

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must be able to communicate with all levels of Team Members and Guests in a professional and courteous manner

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Basic understanding of math

REASONING ABILITY

• Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to be on feet for the majority of the day
• Must be able to operate a golf cart or company vehicle safely
• This is a physically challenging position

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Farmstead, Garden, and Livestock areas
• Must be able to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, and all weather conditions
