Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch, LLP, an internationally recognized intellectual property law firm located near Mosaic District in Vienna, VA, has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled Chemical Patent Attorney to join our team on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Preparation and prosecution of patent applications for leading global technology companies

Collaboration with clients and other professionals

Staying up-to-date on the latest developments in patent law

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required

Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry/biochemistry, or equivalent required

Registration to practice before the USPTO required

At least 2 years of patent prosecution and/or USPTO experience in handling cases in at least one related area such as materials, inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry, biotechnology, chemical compositions, etc.

Strong technical writing and analytical skills

Ability to work well in a team environment

Strong communication skills with well-organized and very responsive and positive attitude
