Job Responsibilities

• Support implementation of watershed activities according to approved work plans around water conservation, soil health management, crops/cultivars, agronomy, IPM, livestock and others.
• Support baseline and impact assessment.
• Conduct participatory field trials/demos with farmers in the watershed and collect high‑quality data sets required for scientific research via crop cuttings and farmer records.
• Develop and strengthen community‑based organizations.
• Day‑to‑day supervision of various activities in farmers’ fields and systematic documentation.
• Train farmers/farm facilitators and disseminate best practices to farmers in the watershed.
• Prepare field progress reports.
• Liaise with stakeholders such as farmers, NGOs, line departments and others.
• Perform any other responsibilities as entrusted by the supervisor.

Essential Criteria

• Bachelor of Science with specialization in Agriculture/Biological Sciences or Diploma in Agriculture or a related field with more than 2 years of agriculture‑related experience.
• Proficiency in English and Oriya (written and spoken) is required.
• Flair for field work, group interactions, and suitable experience preferred.

Competencies

• Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, data analysis).
• Good team player and adaptable to operating in a multicultural group.

General

This is a consolidated position for 24 months (two years), renewable based on performance and institute’s continuing need.
