Beas Capital - Investment Analyst

Background:- Beas Capital is a value oriented, long only fund, focused on Indian listed equities. The role offers the analyst an opportunity to work on investments in public markets. As part of a small, high-conviction team, analyst is expected to take end-to-end ownership of ideas - from ideation and deep-dive research to investment memos and execution. - This role is a great fit for those who are genuinely passionate about investing, thrive on deep and first-principles research. Analyst would work directly with the fund's leadership, with active mentorship and feedback, and have a clear path to taking on greater responsibility based on initiative and insight.Responsibilities: Evaluate investment opportunities: - Screen a set of public companies to analyze based on qualitative and quantitative filters, industry theses and inputs from the team. - Evaluate shortlisted opportunities through primary and secondary research, interactions with the management team and industry experts, analyzing financial and operating metrics and presenting the investment thesis to the PM.- Industry research: develop domain expertise on specific sectors / technologies and present findings / investment opportunities to the rest of the team.- Collaborate with the team to co-author white papers and thought pieces that reflect the firm's research-driven investment approach.- Engage with the evolving landscape of research tools - AI, data scraping, dashboards - and propose ways to streamline or improve internal processes.- Represent the firm professionally in select external interactions - e.g., investor forums, broker meets, or expert calls - where required.- Participate in internal discussions on capital allocation, position sizing, and exit strategy, with a view to developing long-term judgment.- Contribute to internal database building - such as maintaining a repository of industry KPIs, macro indicators, or historical performance benchmarks.What We Seek:At Beas Capital, we are a small, focused team with high standards. Looking for minimum 1 year of investment experience.- Understanding of excel to build business models. Ability to think using first principles and filter signal from the noise is critical.- Low churn and long investment horizons are the cornerstones of strategy. Ability to align investment thought process to absolute returns.- Proficiency in using multiple data sources to collate and analyse fundamental information in a succinct, coherent way.
