Field Service Technician

Battlefield Equipment Rentals (a division of Toromont Industries Ltd.), one of Canada’s premiere Construction Rental Companies, has an immediate requirement for a Field Service Technician (Unlicensed) at our Halifax location. Our busy, team-oriented shops place a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. The service department is an important area of our business, ensuring that our equipment is ready and available, as well as maintaining a flow of information on that equipment for both the rental staff and the sales staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Wage: $28.00-$32.00 per hour depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in safe workplace safety, environmentally sound behaviors and practices at all times in support of Battlefield’s health and safety policy programs and initiatives;
• Repair and service equipment on site
• Perform inspections on equipment on job site
• Ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner
• Maneuver efficiently and effectively within the region in all traffic situations
• Provide excellent customer relations in a fast-paced
• Adaptable to on-call work schedules and willing to work in all weather conditions;
• Ensure vehicle is maintained and organized
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

• Participate in safe workplace safety, environmentally sound behaviors and practices at all times in support of Battlefield’s health and safety policy programs and initiatives;
• Extensive background and knowledge of construction equipment and the necessary parts and services to maintain and repair;
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairs;
• Existing knowledge of the service/maintenance requirements for all types of construction equipment including Genie, Skyjack and CAT;
• Ability to work independently, skilled in time management and organization;
• Supervisory experience and previous leadership experience;
• Adaptable to on-call work schedules and willing to work to meet the demands of the business;
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Cat systems (ET and SIS would be considered beneficial);
• A customer-centric and positive attitude; good communication skills;
• A valid G-class driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract is mandatory.

• Applicant must be able to perform heavy lifting; as heavy lifting will be required frequently;
