Job Description
As an Analyst CMBS at Barclays, CMBS origination team, your role involves underwriting loans secured by commercial mortgages for securitization in CMBS transactions. You will be responsible for assessing property economics, determining appropriate loan amounts and interest rates, evaluating risks, and ensuring all loans meet Barclays' criteria. Additionally, you will perform quarterly analysis of Balance Sheet loans and participate in underwriting & due diligence of Acquisition facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Offering Memos to understand real estate and financing requests
- Evaluate and compile property level income statements, rent rolls, occupancy statistics, and other information into excel-based models
- Conduct market research using third party sources and public information
- Review tenant leases and prepare abstracts of key terms
- Assess historical and projected capital expenditure budgets
- Prepare asset summary reports describing property and market characteristics
- Perform underwriting & due diligence of Acquisition facilities
- Analyze financial statements, rent rolls, occupancy statistics, and transaction updates for Balance Sheet loans
- Manage CMBS data and assist in populating databases
- Supervise juniors/new joiners in the team
Qualifications Required:
- Postgraduate Degree (or equivalent)
- Experience in Real Estate finance or securitized products like CMBS, RMBS, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Real Estate metrics and financial statements
- Experience in CMBS issuances and data management
- Excellent analytical skills for analyzing test results
- Experience in preparing Narratives or Asset Summary reports
- Familiarity with Due Diligence process, Argus Software, Bloomberg, Trepp, CoStar, and REIS reports
This role will be based out of Mumbai.
