In this role, you will shape our UI strategy, lead a talented team, and deliver exceptional digital experiences that set the standard for enterprise applications. About the Role As a Senior UI Engineer Lead, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our front-end vision. Technical Mentorship: Offer hands‑on expertise, coaching and direction to UI engineers to drive alignment, best practices, and continuous improvement (no direct people management). Your deep expertise in Angular will enable you to architect and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead & Mentor: Guide a team of UI engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence. Architect & Innovate: Define UI/UX strategy, architecture, and best practices aligned with business goals. Hands-On Development: Design and implement robust Angular applications, ensuring scalability and performance. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Product, UX, and Backend teams to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions. Drive Quality: Conduct code reviews, optimize performance, and champion engineering best practices. Stay Ahead: Keep up with the latest Angular trends and integrate new features and methodologies. Thought Leadership: Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineers while influencing broader technical strategy. Required Qualifications 8+ years of professional experience in front-end/UI development with Angular (8+). Proven leadership experience in UI/Frontend development roles. Expertise in Micro Frontend (MFE) architecture for scalable, modular applications. Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and responsive design. Experience integrating with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and backend services. Solid understanding of build tools (Webpack, Angular CLI, npm, yarn) and version control (Git). Familiarity with software engineering best practices (unit testing, automation, design patterns). Knowledge of building highly available, resilient, and low-latency applications. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS, OpenShift) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with CI/CD pipelines and front-end testing frameworks (Cypress, Jasmine, Karma). Familiarity with event-driven architecture (Kafka, Spark). Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk). Database concepts (RDBMS, NoSQL). Salary: $75,900.00 - $141,900.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
