Job Description

Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust is looking for a social worker (MSW) to work in the community and Anganwadi centres. Candidates who reside near Nemmeli, Pattipulam can apply for this post. Regional language is mandate to apply for this post.

Field Staff is responsible for implementing early childhood care and development activities at Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) and conducting home visits to disseminate parenting messages. The role involves working directly with children, parents, pregnant women, and post-natal care women to ensure the effective delivery of ECCD programs, monitor child development, and support community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Morning Activities at Anganwadi Centers (AWCs):

  • Child Engagement:
  • Facilitate and participate in educational and developmental activities for children at AWCs.
  • Implement ECCD curriculum and activities designed to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development in line with ICDS syllabus.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Observe and record developmental milestones of children.
  • Resource Management:
  • Ensure that educational materials and resources are used effectively and are in positive condition.
  • Report any deficiencies or needs for additional resources.
  • Health and Safety:
  • Monitor the health and safety conditions at AWCs and report any issues.
  • Make AWC staff aware of the hygiene and safety protocols, if required, to ensure a safe learning environment.

2. Afternoon Home Visits:

  • Parenting Support:
  • Conduct home visits to provide parenting advice and disseminate ECCD messages to parents and guardians.
  • Educate parents on child development, brain development, health, and nutrition.
  • Support for Pregnant and Post-Natal Women:
  • Provide information and support to pregnant women and new mothers on prenatal and postnatal care.
  • Offer guidance on infant care, breastfeeding, and maternal health.
  • Data Collection and Reporting:
  • Record and report information on the number of home visits, individuals met, and the nature of the information disseminated.
  • Identify and document any issues or challenges faced during home visits.
  • Community Engagement:
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families and community members.
  • Encourage community participation and support for ECCD initiatives.

3. Administrative Duties:

  • Reporting:
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports on activities, including attendance, engagement, and any issues encountered.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities and interactions.
