BAGE CPA is looking to hire an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have achieved the Canadian CPA designation and have experience in a public accounting firm. This is a remote/work from home position.

BAGE CPA is Atlantic Canada’s first Virtual Accounting Firm. We are a boutique firm with a primary focus on small businesses in Atlantic Canada. As a CPA Firm, we provide the traditional business services, including year-end compliance, bookkeeping, advisory and tax services, but we do it all in the “cloud”. Leveraging best in breed cloud technology, we assist our clients to build fully integrated, easy to use information systems platform that is affordable, efficient and effective to support both operational and back-office processes. As a valued member of our team you will:

· Assist in the research, design and implementation of cloud-based systems for small businesses.

· Conduct financial statement compilations

· Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns

· Provide Controller and/or CFO services to our small business clients

· Be responsible for financial record-keeping of all client activities

· Prepare tax, GST, HST, PST, QST, WSIB returns, as required

· Communicate with clients to identify issues

· Work with cloud accounting software and provide support to the client

· Generate financial reports

· Complete other accounting related duties, as required

· Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week)

Posting Qualifications

· University degree with a major in Accounting (preferred) and CPA designation

· Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE and ASNFPO)

· High level of professionalism

· Demonstrated ability to remain organized and consistently meet deadlines

· Possess good understanding of accounting principles and possess basic accounting skills

· Quick learning capacity

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

· Strong interpersonal skills, professional manner, and ability to work independently and in a team environment

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· A propensity for information technology in solving information systems integrations.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
