Our client, a global German multinational with 60,000+ employees across 66 countries, is looking for a Senior Cloud Platform / Backend Engineer to join their Data & AI Solutions – Engineering team within Healthcare R&D.

In this role, you will help design, develop, and evolve a cutting-edge AWS-based analytics platform used to support drug discovery and scientific research . You’ll play a key role in shaping the platform’s technical roadmap, implementing new features, and ensuring the platform remains scalable, secure, and reliable for global research teams.

This is a great opportunity for a senior engineer who enjoys combining backend development, cloud architecture, and platform engineering to build solutions that directly impact innovation in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously improve a cloud-native analytics platform on AWS
• Implement new backend and platform features while ensuring seamless deployment and system stability
• Contribute to the technical roadmap and architecture decisions of the platform
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, security, and operational reliability
• Implement and maintain data lifecycle management and archival strategies
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and cross-functional teams in an agile, international environment

Core Tech Stack

• Python (including boto3 for AWS services)
• AWS ecosystem (Lambda, CDK, and other core services)
• SQL
• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps practices

Nice to Have

• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID for identity management
• Familiarity with R or SAS for data analysis or modeling
