Job Description
Data Analyst with a particular focus in emissions compliance
Company overview
Azzera is a Canadian company founded by aviation industry veterans with over 25 years of experience in aviation. We build technology that makes emissions compliance straightforward for aircraft operators. Our SaaS platform, Azzera Celeste, supports operators across the full range of aviation sustainability obligations: EU ETS, UK ETS, Swiss ETS, CORSIA, ReFuelEU Aviation, SAF tracking. Alongside the platform, we offer vetted carbon credits and access to high-quality SAF certificates. We work with a growing international portfolio of clients, from business aviation operators to airlines and cargo carriers. We are a small, driven, genuinely collaborative team. Does this sound interesting?
We are looking for a Data Analyst with a particular interest in emissions compliance, equally comfortable deep in a dataset as on a call with a client. Someone who wants to own the full compliance process end to end, building lasting relationships with the operators they support.
About the Role
Our clients use the Azzera Celeste platform to simplify and automate their emissions compliance obligations, but many also request that we manage the administrative part of the monitoring and reporting on their behalf. That is what this role is about. You will act as the dedicated compliance lead for a portfolio of aircraft operators, managing their full annual reporting cycle across EU ETS, UK ETS, Swiss ETS, CORSIA, and ReFuelEU Aviation. That means working with Azzera Celeste, coordinating with clients, verification bodies, and competent authorities, making sure every deadline is met. You will work independently, reporting to the Chief Aviation Officer, and are expected to take full ownership of your client portfolio after an initial onboarding period. This is a role for someone who enjoys both the analytical and the relational sides of the work and is looking to grow into a senior position over time.
Required
- 2–3 years of professional experience as a data analyst working with large datasets
- Track record of taking projects from raw data to stakeholder-ready insights independently
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, complex formulas, Power Query, and Excel data model
- Strong working knowledge of Python for data analysis (pandas, numpy, Jupyter)
- Hands-on experience building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau
- Exposure to SQL for querying production databases and product analytics tools
- Strong presentation skills with PowerPoint
- Ability to translate analytical findings into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders
- Ownership mindset with the ability to scope and deliver work end-to-end
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent client workflows under strict regulatory deadlines. Missing a submission window or filing incorrect data can carry direct financial and legal consequences for clients
- Strong written and verbal communication skills: you will be drafting regulatory correspondence, preparing client-facing reports, and communicating with authorities and verifiers regularly
- Interest in aviation emissions regulation and the motivation to learn complex compliance frameworks quickly. Prior knowledge of EU ETS, CORSIA, or ReFuelEU Aviation is a bonus, not a requirement
- A genuine interest in being client-facing: you will be building ongoing relationships with operators and should be comfortable as the person they call when something needs resolving
Nice to have
- Ability to incorporate Excel into multiple workflows and integrate it with other tools
- Genuine interest in AI systems and using them in analytical workflows
- Experience in a regulated or compliance-driven industry
- Background in aviation (operations, compliance, or sustainability) and/or hands-on experience with aviation-specific datasets
- Proactive mindset and ability to communicate technical and complex issues into a simple form.
Language:
- Fluent in English (required), and French (nice to have).
Work Location: remote but working mostly in Central European time zone hours
Pay: From $54,000.00 per year
Work Location: Remote
