Field Service Technician – Mechanical / Electrical Equipment

AWS Auto Wash Systems Ltd. – Russell, Ontario

Service Area: Ottawa, Gatineau & Eastern Ontario

AWS Auto Wash Systems Ltd. is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our growing team servicing commercial car wash equipment throughout Ottawa, Gatineau, and Eastern Ontario.

This is a hands-on field service role ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, troubleshooting equipment, and solving mechanical or electrical problems. The position offers the opportunity to develop specialized technical skills while working independently at customer locations.

We welcome applicants with backgrounds in automotive repair, HVAC, industrial maintenance, agricultural equipment, or other equipment service roles. Training is provided for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Start Date: Immediate

Compensation: $58,000-$75,000/annum depending on experience, plus overtime and on-call pay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on commercial car wash equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance at customer locations
  • Install automated and self-serve wash systems
  • Maintain service records and communicate with the service team
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and materials in a professional manner
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
  • Travel within Eastern Ontario required

Ideal Candidate

  • Mechanical aptitude or experience working with equipment
  • Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working in active service environments

Skills & Qualifications

  • Good communication skills (English required; French is an asset)
  • Basic computer and email skills
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and service documentation

Assets (Not Required)

  • Experience as a service technician
  • Background in automotive repair, HVAC, industrial maintenance, or equipment service
  • Knowledge of PLC controllers, low-voltage circuits, or three-phase power

Additional Information

Work is performed primarily in the field with varying schedules and a rotating on-call component. Candidates should enjoy hands-on technical work and independent problem solving.
