Senior FullStack Engineer PHP/MySQL

About The Opportunity

We are supporting the integration of a recently acquired UK-based software company (~70 employees) that provides a platform for salvage yard operations management. This role is part of a critical initiative to stabilize, scale, and integrate the acquired platform into the ecosystem. The team is in an active integration phase, offering a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Team & Structure

You will work closely with a UK-based Lead Engineer and a small, established dev team. The team is currently lean (~4 engineers), offering strong ownership opportunities, reporting structure is evolving as part of the post-acquisition integration

Responsibilities

• Work on a production platform built with PHP and MySQL, supporting active customers
• Execute hands-on data operations, including: Running and optimizing MySQL scripts; Supporting customer onboarding (data uploads, configuration); Migrating and validating data for existing customers; Contribute to improving platform stability and reliability; Collaborate closely with the UK-based Lead Engineer and existing development team; Support the integration into eBay’s Azure Cloud environment; Troubleshoot issues and provide quick, effective solutions in a live production setting

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with PHP (backend-focused)
• Advanced, hands-on experience with MySQL: Writing complex queries; Running scripts directly in production environments; Data migration and manipulation; Experience working with production systems and live customer data; Solid understanding of system stability, debugging, and performance optimization; Ability to work in a fast-paced, integration-driven environment

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Azure
• Background in full stack development (frontend exposure is a plus)
• Experience working with legacy systems or startup environments
• Familiarity with data-heavy applications or operational platforms
