Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Engineer

Overview

CIAM / Identity Engineer — Brampton - Hybrid (2-3 days from Office)

Responsibilities

• CIAM Platforms & Identity Technologies
• Hands-on experience with Transmit Security, including:
• Authentication orchestration
• Identity flows
• Fraud detection services
• Strong expertise with Okta CIAM / Okta Customer Identity, including both Auth0 and Classic Okta.
• Deep understanding of modern authentication methods:
• MFA, passwordless authentication, adaptive & risk-based authentication
• Strong command of identity and authorization standards:
• OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, JWT, REST APIs
• Technical Engineering & Integration Skills
• Experience integrating CIAM solutions with web and mobile applications.
• Knowledge of mobile authentication integration patterns (iOS / Android SDKs).
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) for CIAM integration.
• Understanding of API Gateways, microservices, and cloud native architectures.
• Solid grasp of cryptographic concepts:
• Certificates, public/private keys, token signing, encryption, key management
• Experience with cloud platforms:
• AWS, Azure, GCP
• Soft Skills
• Strong analytical thinking and problem solving capability.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder handling skills.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile and DevSecOps environments.
• High ownership mindset with strong attention to detail and quality.
• Nice to Have
• Experience with additional CIAM platforms:
• Auth0, ForgeRock, Ping Identity
• Knowledge of:
• Fraud detection
• Bot mitigation
• Behavioral analytics
• Experience with CI/CD and IaC tooling:
• Terraform, Git, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins
• Certifications in Okta or Transmit Security.
