Job Description
About Ascencio Legal
Ascencio Legal is a next-generation legal ed-tech start-up building at the intersection of law and policy, education, and technology. Our mission is to make Indian law, policy, and political history impossible to forget while guiding current and future lawyers, policy-makers, and individuals with similar interests. Think landmark judgments retold as gripping stories, constitutional and political history as lived experience, and legal careers demystified for the students and professionals navigating them. We are currently building our content brand ahead of our product launch, and we are looking for sharp, articulate minds to help us bring that vision to life.
The Role
As a Legal Correspondent & Analyst (Video), you will be the face and voice of our content—researching, analyzing, and presenting Indian legal history, landmark cases, policy-shaping events, and career insights to a growing audience of law students and young legal professionals across Instagram and YouTube. Do not worry, we will guide and assist you at every stage.
Please note that this is not a behind-the-scenes role. You will be on screen, on record, and on brand, building your own public profile as a credible legal communicator while helping Ascencio Legal establish its content identity.
Research briefs and scripts will be handled jointly by you and the rest of the team. You bring the legal perspective, the analytical sharpness, and the on-screen presence.
Who is This For
1) This role is open to law students and law professionals (undergrad/postgrad/professionals) regardless of their career stage.
2) You must however be at least 19 years of age and must have completed your first year of undergrad.
3) You must have good presentation and communication skills, attention-to-detail, and a strong desire to learn.
You Are The Right Fit If You
1) Have a genuine curiosity about Indian law and policy, its history, its social impact, and its career pathways;
2) Can explain a complex concept to a non-lawyer clearly and confidently;
3) Are comfortable being on camera or are willing to develop that comfort with support;
4) Follow through on commitments without needing to be chased;
5) Want to build something that outlasts a line on your CV.
What You Will Do
1) Present and analyze landmark Indian judgments, constitutional and political events, and policy-shaping moments in short-form video content (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
2) Break down legal career paths, professional opportunities, and profile-building strategies for a student and early-professional audience.
3) Find viral, content-worthy topics and trends to boost the reach and engagement.
4) Collaborate with the content team on research briefs, content topics, scripts, and story angles.
5) Represent Ascencio Legal as a Campus Ambassador within your law school, alumni or professional network.
6) Contribute to building a brand that will eventually serve as the content backbone of a full-scale legal ed-tech platform.
What You Will Get
1) Full authorship and on-screen credit on every piece of content you contribute to.
2) A published, growing portfolio of legal content, a genuine differentiator on any law CV or professional profile.
3) Demonstrated experience in legal communication and public-facing analysis, increasingly valued across firms, chambers, and legal organizations.
4) Ground-floor association with a fast-moving, next-generation legal ed-tech start-up while it is still being shaped.
5) Structured support and mentorship at every stage—research, scripting, on-screen coaching, and content production guidance.
6) Exposure to current and upcoming relevant fields such as marketing, business, technology and AI.
