This position is a 1.0 FTE located within the Office of Special Education.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledgeable about special education policies and procedures.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiar with Synergy SIS and SE.
- Knowledgeable about positive behavioral supports.
- Knowledgeable of Section 504.
EXPERIENCE
- At least three years experience in special education or related fields.
- Experience and ability in reviewing and evaluating assessment data prepared for the special education process.
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Experience working in schools as a teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
- Special Education or Speech Language Pathology endorsement.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills, both verbal and written.
- Creative problem solving skills.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Ability to present to small and medium-sized audiences.
- Knowledge of needs and behaviors of students with IEPs and 504 accommodations.
- Coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility in dealing with job and schedule.
- Assume responsibility and display initiative.
- Handle and maintain confidential information regarding students, staff, and parents.
- Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is
preferred but not required.
Salary:
Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule.
