Senior Software Engineer – AWS Integration & Microservices

THIS IS A LONG TERM CONTRACT POSITION WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST, GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY LEADERS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and microservices using Node.js (Java exposure is a plus).
• Architect and deploy scalable microservices using AWS services including:
• Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, ECS, Glue
• EventBridge, SQS, SNS and related services
• Ensure high availability, performance optimization, and cost efficiency.
• Debug and resolve production issues within defined SLAs.
• Prepare and maintain High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing using CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, and AWS X-Ray.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Apply security best practices including IAM, KMS, and Secrets Manager.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, CDK, or Serverless Framework.
• Write and maintain automated test cases using Mocha, Jest, and mocking frameworks.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate using GitHub (PR reviews) and Jira.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud-native development.
• Experience building microservices using:
• Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, ECS, S3, EventBridge, SQS, SNS.
• CI/CD experience using Jenkins or similar tools.
• Experience with observability tools such as:
• Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch.
• Strong understanding of IAM, KMS, and secure application design.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Serverless/CDK/CloudFormation).
• Proficiency in GitHub and Jira workflows.

Good to Have

• Exposure to Java-based backend systems.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate.
• Exposure to enterprise integration flows (Order-to-Cash, Accounts Receivable, ERP systems).
• Experience developing Python-based services.
• Exposure to GenAI applications (RAG/MCP frameworks).

Primary Skills: Node.js, AWS Cloud Development, Exposure to CI/CD through Jenkins

Secondary Skills: Observability Tools like Splunk/Dyntatrace/Cloud Watch. Exposure to JAVA & GenAI applications
