Job Description
The Salesforce Technical Lead (TL) for Revenue Cloud is a technical leadership role on a Salesforce Quote-to-Cash solution implementation engagement. The Technical Lead is responsible for working with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to implement, integrate, and maintain Salesforce solutions. This is not a role for a generalist; it requires a specialist with a mastery of the Revenue Cloud data model and a "Configuration-First" philosophy.
Must be a proactive advisor who understands that the power of Revenue Cloud lies in its native engine. To guide clients away from unnecessary customization by leveraging Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) capabilities, ensuring their solution is scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Salesforce’s product roadmap. Will lead technical delivery, bridging the gap between complex pricing strategies and elegant technical execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Stewardship: Lead the technical design of CPQ and Billing solutions with a deep focus on the native data model
- Configuration-first Approach: Actively identify opportunities to use standard features before recommending custom code
- Technical Advisory: Consult on complex "Quote-to-Cash" scenarios, including usage-based pricing, multi-dimensional quoting (MDQ), and complex amendment/renewal logic
- Hands-on Execution: Build and supervise the development of complex Price Rules, Product Rules, and Advanced Approvals. Where OOTB limits are met, to lead the development of high-performance, scalable solutions
- Revenue Integrity: Ensure the technical architecture supports downstream financial accuracy, including Revenue Recognition rules, regulatory systems and OMS/ERP synchronization
- Governance: Manage the unique challenges of Quote to Cash data deployments, ensuring configuration data and metadata is migrated safely across environments
Skills and Qualifications
- Data Model Mastery: Expert-level understanding of the Salesforce Revenue Cloud schema. You must understand the relationship between Opportunities, Quotes, Orders, Subscriptions, and Assets at a granular level
- OOTB Revenue Cloud Expertise: Experience in leading the technical team for at least one Revenue Cloud implementation engagement. 4+ years of hands-on experience configuring Salesforce CPQ & Billing
- Consulting Pedigree: 8+ years in professional services. You must be comfortable challenging customization requests to provide a more sustainable architectural path
- Development Background: 5+ years of application design. While we prefer configuration, you must be proficient in Apex, LWC, and the core Revenue Cloud components
- Enterprise Integration: Proven experience integrating Revenue Cloud with OMS or ERP systems and understanding the nuances of "Booking vs. Billing"
- Release Management: Experience with Salesforce deployment tools to manage the migration from one environment to another
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related field
