Job Description

As a Telecommunications Project Coordinator, you will play a critical role in managing, organizing, and executing various telecommunications projects. Your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the successful and timely delivery of projects. This role is 90% in-office and 10% on-site. A company vehicle may be provided for travel between the office and project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all tasks are clearly defined, assigned, and tracked.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates, highlighting any deviations and proposing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, including status reports and updates.
  • Conduct risk assessment and implement mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing project documentation, filing systems, and reports.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills to address project challenges and obstacles.
  • Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess project performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel, for data analysis, tracking, and reporting.
  • Manage data input and oversee report generation to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Request and manage Road Occupancy Permits and develop Traffic Control Plans as required for project sites.
  • Ensure compliance with Book 7 guidelines and safety standards.
  • Create and update site packages, incorporating all necessary documentation.
  • Conduct daily on-site inspections to ensure subcontractors adhere to project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to address on-site issues, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Supervise and coordinate the installation of fibre optic infrastructure, ensuring efficiency and adherence to project plans.
  • Document daily output and progress on-site, including as-built drawings to accurately reflect installed infrastructure.
  • Ontario One Call Locate Requests: Receive, review, and process locate requests, ensuring all necessary information is gathered and verified.
  • Locate Processing: Coordinate with field teams and technicians to track the location of underground utilities and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Locate Management: Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and utility providers to manage and schedule locate assignments efficiently.
  • Locate Tracking: Maintain a comprehensive tracking system to monitor locate request progress from initiation to completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager and Director.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of proven experience in project coordination within the telecommunications or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications concepts and terminology, with the ability to read construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project requirements.
  • Familiarity with Road Occupancy Permits, Traffic Control Plans, and Book 7 guidelines.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and a "can-do" attitude.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Successful candidates must provide a criminal background check as a condition of employment.
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
