Job Description

Location: Fond-du-Lac

I am recruiting a Flight Control Laws Engineer on behalf of a fast-growing, ground-breaking eVTOL business, operating in Ontario.

In this role, you will lead the development of their platform’s flight control laws and systems. As flight controls form the core intelligence of the aircraft, you will collaborate closely with nearly every technical discipline, balancing complex and often competing requirements to deliver a truly innovative system.

As part of a small, agile team, you will have significant opportunities to expand your expertise, take on new responsibilities, and grow your career across adjacent technical domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design flight control laws, performance models, CONOPS, system requirements, and supporting analyses
  • Translate system and aircraft requirements into flight control laws, sensor integration strategies, and control algorithms
  • Develop innovative methods to verify and validate complex systems and software
  • Enhance and expand flight simulation capabilities and environment models
  • Implement, test, and evaluate flight control systems to ensure performance and safety objectives are met
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in flight controls and related fields
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in flight control law development or control algorithm design
  • Strong foundation in aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and aircraft stability (experience in eVTOL development preferred)
  • Solid understanding of modern control theory, including robust and optimal control methods
  • Experience with system identification and signal processing techniques
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for development, real-time simulation, and analysis
  • Experience with automatic code generation tools
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++
  • Experience developing software in compliance with DO-178C
  • Familiarity with eVTOL certification requirements from TCCA, FAA, and EASA

If you are passionate about advanced aerospace systems and excited to work in a collaborative, fast-moving environment, I would love to hear from you.
