Role Responsibility: 1.

Structural Design

Analysis

• Perform detailed design of:
• Steel structures (pipe racks, platforms, sheds)
• RCC structures (foundations, pedestals, tanks)
• Use engineering principles from Structural Engineering
• Conduct load calculations:
• Dead loads, live loads, wind loads, seismic loads
• Work with analysis/design software such as:
• STAAD.Pro
• ETABS
• SAP2000
• Drawings Detailing
• Prepare and review:
• GA (General Arrangement) drawings
• Structural drawings and fabrication drawings
• Reinforcement detailing (RCC)
• Coordinate with draftsmen and BIM teams using:
• AutoCAD
• Tekla Structures
• Site Coordination Execution Support
• Provide technical support during construction:
• Resolve site queries (RFIs)
• Ensure drawings are correctly implemented
• Coordinate with:
• Civil team, mechanical team, piping team, contractors
• Conduct site visits for:
• Inspection of structural works
• Checking alignment, levels, and quality
• Codes, Standards Compliance
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes such as:
• IS 456
• IS 800
• IS 875
• Follow client specifications and international standards (if applicable like AISC, Eurocode)
• Estimation Material Planning
• Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities)
• Estimate quantities of:
• Concrete, steel, anchor bolts, structural steel
• Optimize design for cost-efficiency without compromising safety
• Project Coordination Communication
• Interface with:
• Clients, consultants, vendors
• Participate in design review meetings
• Present calculations, reports, and design concepts
• Documentation Reporting
• Prepare:
• Design calculation reports
• Method statements
• Technical specifications
• Maintain revision records and documentation control
• Quality Assurance Safety
• Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures
• Review material test reports (MTRs)
• Support safety practices related to structural works
• Team Handling (for ~8 12 years experience)
• Guide junior engineers and designers
• Review and approve their work
• Allocate tasks and monitor progress
