About Department

School of Creative Practice and Entrepreneurship (SCoPE): The problems of today’s world are multifaceted and require insights from diverse areas of expertise. The design solutions to these problems, therefore, emerge out of and are nurtured in multi-dimensional contexts. In line with the NEP 2020 framework, the School of Creative Practices and Entrepreneurship (SCoPE) was established in January 2022 to make these contexts stand out through interdisciplinary teaching and research. As a hub of academicians and scholars from diverse liberal arts disciplines and practices, such as creative arts, humanities, social sciences, sciences and entrepreneurship, SCoPE will offer an exciting range of courses. SCoPE would also foster a research ecosystem by promoting collaborations at the interface between various disciplines by bringing together researchers from the University and beyond. Thus, SCoPE intends to enhance context awareness by inculcating interdisciplinary knowledge, research aptitude, multipronged problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Master’s degree in English, Communication, Media Studies, Applied Linguistics or related field. PhD/ NET preferred.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

The Design University seeks two dynamic and interdisciplinary educators for the position of Instructor/Lecturer in Writing and Communication. The candidates will teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in design disciplines, helping them develop strong written, verbal, visual, and professional communication skills. The role requires integrating communication pedagogy with creative practice, critical thinking, storytelling and industry relevance.

The following Key Responsibility Area broadly defines the scope of work as an Instructor/Lecturer:

• Independently teach courses and lead workshops in communication, professional writing, presentation skills, storytelling and related areas via innovative pedagogies.
• Mentor students in professional writing and coach them in public speaking, pitching ideas, client communication and collaborative work.
• Map student learning through assignments, presentations, reflective writing, and projects.
• Participate and offer help in scholarly research with an aim to present at leading conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Engage in other duties and responsibilities assigned by the university.
