Backend Developer (Node.js) – Immediate Hire

About the Role We are building a platform that directly impacts how products are executed and optimized in physical retail environments across North America. Our technology is used by leading brands and retailers to drive real, measurable results in-store — not just dashboards, but execution.

We’re looking for a senior Backend Developer who wants to build systems that operate at scale in the real world, where performance, reliability, and speed truly matter. This is not a maintenance role — it’s a builder role, with the opportunity to shape and evolve a growing platform used in mission-critical workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable backend services using Node.js (TypeScript preferred)

Build and maintain APIs supporting web and mobile applications

Develop systems that support real-time data processing and responsive user experiences

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver technical solutions

Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems

Design and manage relational database structures and queries

Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms

Build and maintain background processing and data workflows

Contribute to code quality through testing, documentation, and best practices

Troubleshoot, debug, and improve production systems

Continuously improve system architecture and development processes

Required Qualifications

8–10+ years of backend development experience (Node.js preferred)

Strong experience building scalable, production-grade systems

Experience designing and working with APIs

Solid understanding of system performance, scalability, and reliability

Strong experience with relational databases and query optimization

Experience with modern development practices (testing, CI/CD, version control)

Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables

Cloud & DevOps Experience

Experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or similar)

Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker or similar)

Understanding of scalable infrastructure and high-availability systems

Experience with monitoring, logging, and performance optimization in production

Additional Technical Experience (Nice to Have)

Experience working with real-time or event-driven systems

Familiarity with caching, messaging, or distributed system patterns

Exposure to data processing, automation, or image-based systems

Experience integrating external services or APIs

Experience working in SaaS or multi-tenant environments
