Junior Rust

**About the Role**

We are looking for a **recent university graduate** to join our team as a **Junior Rust / Systems Engineer**. This role is ideal for someone passionate about backend development, systems programming, and emerging AI technologies.

You will work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to building core components of our AI governance tool, gaining hands-on exposure to real-world product development.

• *Key Responsibilities**
• Assist in developing and maintaining backend services using **Rust**
• Support the implementation of **policy evaluation and rule-based logic** within the platform
• Contribute to building and improving **API integrations** (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) under guidance
• Help implement **data validation, input filtering, and safety checks** for AI interactions
• Collaborate on designing and supporting backend interfaces such as **APIs and gRPC services**
• Participate in improving system performance and learning best practices for **efficient, scalable code**
• Write and maintain **unit and integration tests** to ensure reliability
• Work with cross-functional teams including product and AI teams
• Contribute to **documentation and internal tools**
• Continuously learn and stay updated on **AI safety, backend systems, and modern development practices**
• *Qualifications**
• Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field** (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
• Basic knowledge of **Rust** (coursework, projects, or self-learning)
• Understanding of **data structures, algorithms, and programming fundamentals**
• Familiarity with **backend development concepts (APIs, client-server architecture)**
• Exposure to **systems programming concepts** (memory, concurrency, or OS basics) is a plus
• Experience with **Python, C++, or Go** is an advantage
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

• GitHub or portfolio with academic/personal projects
• Interest in **AI/ML systems or AI governance**
• Basic knowledge of **cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)**
