Job Description
As a Financial Analyst at Amherst, your role will involve performing financial analysis and building financial models for strategic acquisition opportunities. You will be responsible for optimizing portfolio performance by identifying rental assets that should be marked for sale. Additionally, you will develop detailed and comprehensive presentations on market trends and strategic insights for senior management to support investment decisions across the organization. Your tasks will also include underwriting and monitoring the rental market to evaluate existing portfolio performance and support revenue management strategies across various regions within Amherst's 45,000+ homes portfolio. Collaboration with internal teams and operating partners to drive strategic initiatives aimed at improving margins and returns will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
Desired Skills / Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree and MBA/CFA with financial markets understanding is a plus
- Experience: 1-4 years of prior experience in Financial Services and/or Real Estate firm preferred. Highly analytical mindset.
- Technical: Advanced skills in SQL, Tableau, MS Office Excel and PowerPoint. Prior experience in using Yardi, Power BI preferred.
- Proven high performer with a demonstrated track record of academic and/or professional excellence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Highly detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
