Accountant, Sr.Accountant – FMCG Operations

Location: Central Mumbai

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant for our FMCG business to manage day-to-day accounting operations, GST compliance, TDS deductions, statutory filings, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in FMCG accounting processes, inventory-related accounting, vendor reconciliation, and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts and daily accounting entries in ERP/Tally.
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Prepare and maintain sales, purchase, and expense records.
• Manage GST compliance including:
• GST invoicing
• GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual return filing
• Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation
• GST reconciliation with books and portal
• Handle TDS compliance including:
• Deduction and deposit of TDS
• Preparation and filing of TDS returns
• Issuance of TDS certificates
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, and ROC-related documentation (if applicable).
• Perform bank reconciliations and vendor/customer reconciliations.
• Assist in monthly closing, MIS reporting, and financial statement preparation.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities during audits and assessments.
• Monitor inventory accounting and stock reconciliation for FMCG products.
• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of accounting records.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com/M.Com preferred).
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an FMCG company.
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax and statutory compliance.
• Experience with Tally, Microsoft Excel, financial reporting or other accounting software.
• Good understanding of inventory accounting and FMCG distribution processes.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and communication skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience handling high-volume transactions in FMCG/distribution businesses with individual capacity would be ideal.
• Ability to work in a team and meet compliance deadlines.
• Knowledge of audit procedures and taxation updates.
• Ready to travel to different factory locations across the country (need based)
• Looking for a long term partnership with the candidate.

Salary

As per industry standards and candidate experience.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
