Description

The Human Resources Manager carries out the administration of human resources activities including recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement activities for the organization according to established policies, procedures, and processes. They are responsible for working with the Sr. Director of Human Resources and must be able to provide support, maintain communication, and ensure adherence to protocols across key touch points. The Human Resources Manager must be highly collaborative and work well with colleagues from across the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Own the end-to-end recruiting process for all roles, ensuring a positive candidate experience and communicate professionally throughout the hiring process
  • Partner with and educate hiring managers on applicable employment policies, assist with writing position descriptions and prepare advertisements soliciting employment.
  • Coordinate with staffing agencies and search firms when necessary.
  • Screen candidates to ensure candidates can meet or exceed position requirements; prepare and escalate qualified candidates for consideration to hiring managers.
  • Develop job offers and ultimately fill open positions with high-caliber candidates to create a diverse, high-functioning team.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring accurate candidate records
  • Prepare orientation materials and oversee orientation for new employees, making sure that all employees receive a consistent and professional experience, thus setting them up for success.
  • Coordinate with other members of the HR team on recruiting activities to ensure timelines and metrics are being met.

Employee Engagement

  • Distribute and coordinate annual employee surveys, including the Quality of Work Environment survey and the Non-Profit Times survey.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement strategies that foster a positive workplace culture and boost employee morale.
  • Administer Employee Recognition Program including annual recognition luncheon, along with other company and employee events.
  • Participate in culture committees and cross-functional engagement task forces.
  • Leverage HR technology and platforms to enhance communication, connection, and employee experience.

Human Resources

  • Serve as a backup to the Director of Human Resources for all payroll activities
  • Assist employees with HR and employee relations questions / concerns and escalate to Sr. Director as needed.
  • Manage audit process for AKF Health and Wellness plans.
  • Tracks the annual performance management process, ensuring that all reviews are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist in creation of a quarterly dashboard for the Executive Team detailing HR metrics and success rates.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required.
  • 4+ years of experience working in HR, with an emphasis on end-to-end recruiting
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint a must.
  • Experience with UKG is a plus.

The salary range displayed is for a successful candidate hired in the DMV area. The salary range may be adjusted to reflect cost of living factors for candidates living outside of this location.
