We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Data Science Program Manager. This position allows for remote work.

As a Program Manager, you will develop and implement essential operational programs that integrate business and scientific functions. You will hold accountability for budget planning, financial analysis, and operational excellence, overseeing critical initiatives such as the science-based AI Assessment Lab, the National Surveillance Project, and our Data Science grant portfolio. You will also manage core operational activities, including accounting, budgeting, contracts, procurement, and ensuring legal compliance. Your role will focus on driving organizational effectiveness through cross-functional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic decision-making that aligns with our organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement management frameworks for Data Science Operations, including the AI Assessment Lab and National Surveillance Project, ensuring they align with organizational priorities and scientific standards.
  • Oversee the data science grant portfolio, making strategic recommendations for resource allocation and performance optimization while maintaining partnerships across the organization to enhance data science initiatives.
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of the annual budget, including financial modeling and process design to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Synthesize complex financial and operational data to create strategic recommendations and reports that inform leadership decisions.
  • Design strategic plans for educational initiatives and webinars, leading cross-functional teams to ensure effective deployment and engagement.
  • Direct operations and workflow optimization for the national volunteer nomination database.
  • Collaborate with the Guidelines & Statements VP to translate insights from professional members and healthcare stakeholders into executive-level recommendations.
  • Prepare materials for senior leadership reviews, prioritizing publication timelines and coordinating cross-functional communications.
  • Establish embargo management protocols to maintain compliance and oversee enterprise-wide communication strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to connect across all levels of the organization and translate technical information for a diverse audience.
  • Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, able to meet deadlines and coordinate effectively.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Smartsheet, and AI tools for efficient workflow.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting both business and science operations.
  • Familiarity with developing and managing process documentation.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is expected to be between $68,500 and $88,500, commensurate with experience. The American Heart Association is committed to providing competitive compensation and regularly reviews job market values to ensure fair pay.
