Job Description
We are looking for a Strategic Communications Consultant in the Washington, DC area to support stakeholder engagement activities within the Department of Transportation. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our visual and written narrative, translating complex ideas into engaging, high-impact content. The candidate will develop presentations, update digital footprints (website/social media/email distribution), and develop and execute strategic rollout plans. What You Will Do:
- Own the end-to-end creation, formatting, and refinement of high-profile presentations

- Turn raw data and concepts into visually compelling, narrative-driven slide decks (e.g., Google Slides/Microsoft PowerPoint)
•
- Create eye-catching visual assets, including flyers, infographics, and digital images that align with client brand identity
•
- Create and execute strategic communication rollout plans for initiatives, ensuring messages are clear, timely, and impactful
•
- Maintain and update website content and distribution lists
•
- Develop and execute public emails and social media posts, and manage shared inboxes to keep stakeholders informed and engaged
•
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather content, understand project goals, and deliver polished communication materials under tight deadlines
•
- Support facilitation of working group meetings, workshops, and other client events
•
- Identify and understand client expectations as part of the requirements gathering process
•
- Develops end-user documentation and training material
•
- Facilitates internal communications with and for our clients
•
- Maintains a positive working environment to foster productive and healthy team and client relationships
•
- Work on project tasks with other team members under direct supervision of a task lead and/or a project manager to ensure quality services are delivered on schedule and within an available budget to meet customer requirements.
- o Review project plans to understand the scope, schedule and assigned work.
- o Prepare written documents, reports and presentations for review by an experienced consultant or project manager.
- o Participate in client and project team meetings.
- o Assist with research and data analysis.
- o Track and accurately report hours spent on projects.
- o Work with individuals at all levels, provide input to reports and other deliverables, execute multiple assignments, meet agreed deadlines, and adjust to changing client demands.
- o Perform quality assurance on project deliverables.

What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- 0-2 years of relevant professional experience; experience supporting government client, preferred
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Communications, Marketing, or Graphic/Visual Design preferred
